I really like to have a Green Smoothie in the morning. I like mine with Yogurt . The Yogurt adds Protein and helps make it more filling. It also seems to stick with me longer. I use our Nutri Ninja to make them with. There are so many variations for Smoothie Recipes that you can actually create just about any kind you like. For a Green Smoothie it does have to have some kind of Green Vegetable in it. I like to have Kale or Spinach in mine, but you can use any Green Vegetable you like. Try to pick the ones with higher nutritive value in them, for more concentrated nutrition. Here are a couple of Green Smoothie Recipes I like.
1 Cup Kale.
1-2 Cups Carrot Juice.
1 Banana.
1 Cup Tropical Frozen Fruit Mix.
More Liquid if needed.
Put all of the ingredients into the Nutri Ninja Blender or whatever blender you have. The more powerful blenders do a better job of making the Smoothies smooth. Blend until it is nice and smooth. Drink and enjoy. One of these everyday will definitely improve your nutrition level.
This blog is about cooking with Watkins Spices and Seasonings; and possibly some not using Watkins products. Also it's about my life around the cooking including my family and friends. This includes my grandkids; one of which is a special needs little boy. I hope you enjoy it.

July 3, 2015.
I have been intending to start a new blog; where I can post a wider range of recipes, plus anything else I want to post. Since I haven't got that accomplished yet; I will use this site to do that on, for now. Maybe soon I will start a new blog. If I do I will try to direct you to it, from here. Anyway for now I hope you enjoy the posts on here.
Last night one of our grandson's stayed all night with us. He's 9 years old and likes my cooking. So for breakfast I made French Toast. We also had Sausage links. It was pretty yummy. I used Watkins Vanilla and Cinnamon as part of the ingredients. Here is my recipe:
French Toast with Watkins Spices and Vanilla
5-6 Pieces Texas Toast or enough for 1-2 pieces per serving.
4-5 Eggs.
1 Teaspoon Watkins Cinnamon.
1/2-1 Teaspoon Watkins Nutmeg.
1 Cap or a little more Watkins Vanilla.
2-3 Cups 1% Milk.
Olive Oil and a small amount of Butter for browning.
Put the Olive Oil and butter in a skillet.
Heat on medium/high heat until the Butter melts.
Reduce heat to medium or a little above.
Whisk together the Eggs, Cinnamon, Vanilla and Milk in a bowl wide and deep enough to fit the Texas Toast in it.
Put the Texas Toast in this mixture and coat well on both sides and allow it to absorb some of the mixture.
Transfer into the skillet one or two pieces at a time.
Brown well on both sides and cook through.
Serve with extra Butter, Fruit and Syrup.
Delicious!
